BRISTOL - David H. Coffin, 58, of Bristol, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013. David was born July 3, 1955, in Middlebury, the son of Lester and Sylvia Coffin of Bristol. He graduated from Mt. Abraham Union High School in 1974. David married the love of his life, Jane Jerome, on Aug. 23, 1986. They began their life together building their first home on the family land he grew up on. He was a dedicated employee at Pike Industries Inc. for over 30 years. His true passion in life was "tinkering" in his garage. "One man's junk, is another man's treasure," is a true statement of David Coffin. David was a friend to all and the benefactor of many who came within his open garage on Monkton Road. He will be missed by many friends and loved by all. David is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jane Coffin of Bristol; mother, Sylvia Coffin of Bristol; twin sister, Debra and husband, Harry Hartford, of West Newfield, Maine; sister, Nancy and husband, Greg Orvis, of South Starksboro; stepson, Jody Cousino; and very special granddaughter, Grace Cousino, who will always refer to David as her "BaBa." Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-inlaw, and his mother-in-law also survive him. David will always be remembered by his "best boys," Smitty and Scoot. He was predeceased by his father, Lester Coffin; father-in-law, Richard Jerome; and sister-in-law, Debra Lang. A celebration of his life will be held at Bristol American Legion Post 19 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013. Please visit www.gregorycremation.com.
