SOUTH BURLINGTON - Virginia (Reed) Tomasi of South Burlington died on March 17, 2013, in Vermont Respite House, with her loving family by her side. Virginia was born Feb. 16, 1938, in Clearfield, Pa., daughter of Frank Maynard and Alice (French) Reed. She graduated from Reading, Pa., High School and the University of New Hampshire. She received a Master's Degree in Education and a Certificate of Advanced Studies from the University of Vermont. She taught middle school and high school English in Lebanon, N.H., Burlington, Mass., and Newbury, Vt., before her last position as Coordinator of Special Education for the Grand Isle Supervisory Union, before retiring in 2002. Virginia is survived by her husband, Alcan Levy; her two children, Todd and wife, Lauren, and children, Chloe and Reed, and Torrey and daughter, Taylor. She is also survived by her sister, Cynthia and husband, Bob Avent and children, Nanci and Heather of Wilmington, N.C.; her brother, Ransom of Fort Myers, Fla., and his children, Clinton and Allison; her brother, James of Morganton, N.C. and his son, Alex and wife, Jamie, of Pinehurst, N.C., his daughter Dr. Wendy Callahan and husband, Fred, of Morganton, N.C., and daughter, Crosby of Morganton, N.C. Services will be on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Burlington followed by internment in the church Memorial Garden. A reception at the church will follow.
