SOUTH BURLINGTON - Pauline Bristol Noonan, 97, of South Burlington, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013. Pauline was born in Burlington on Aug. 19, 1916, the daughter of Benjamin and Clara (Clark) Bristol. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1933 and from the University of Vermont in 1937, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In 1940, she graduated from the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing. On Sept. 23, 1940, she married her school classmate William P. Noonan, who predeceased her in 1997. They had lived in West Windsor since 1975 when he retired from Western Electric Co. as their Director of Transportation. In 2002, she moved to Allenwood in South Burlington. Pauline was a member of the Brownsville United Methodist Church in West Windsor. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Noonan of Cranford, N.J.; and a son and his wife, Thomas and Gertrude Noonan of Summit, N.J. She is also survived by a grandson, Jeffrey Noonan and his wife, Tricia; a granddaughter, Jamie Noonan; and five greatgrandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Harriet Saville, of Colchester. Her sister, Lucille and her husband of Brattleboro, both predeceased her in March 2012. Her brother, Robert, predeceased her in 1998. According to her wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. Pauline's cremated remains will be buried privately in the North Ferrisburgh cemetery at the convenience of her family.
