Lincoln- Michael D. Truax, 61, a longtime resident of Lincoln, passed away at home, after a courageous battle with leukemia on May 12, 2014. Mike was born on December 30, 1952 to Henry & Helen (Ward) Truax. Mike worked for many years maintaining the properties of the Lust and the Goldstein farms in Lincoln, until his illness prevented him from working. He was an active member of the Lincoln Neighborhood Watch, spending countless hours directing traffic for emergencies and events in the Lincoln community. He was the guardian angel for the Lincoln General Store, watching and waiting each morning for it to open.  He enjoyed hunting and playing cards with his friends.

He is survived by his twin brother, Mark, and older brother George (Wendy) both of Lincoln, a sister-in-law Gay Truax (Ward) of Salisbury, an uncle, Albert Truax of Burlington, several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. He is predeceased by both parents, and his brothers, Henry and Ward.

A memorial service will be held at Burnham Hall on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Addison County Home Health and Hospice.

The family would like to thank Jane and Jess, for the special care given to Mike to make his last days as comfortable as possible.
