SOUTH BURLINGTON -- Susan F. Kutler Marcoux, 58, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014, in the arms of her husband at the incomparable Vermont Respite House in Williston. Susan is the proud mother of Kristen Leigh and Justin Michael and considered her children the biggest gifts of her life. Susan met her husband, Roger Marcoux, in 2002, whereupon they had a full life of adventure, romance, travel and love.
Susan was born in Newark, N.J., on June 8, 1956, daughter of Jean and James Fulcher. Susan is survived by her husband, Roger Marcoux; her daughter, Kristen Goldhaber and husband, Scott; her son, Justin; the father of her children, Marc Kutler; stepdaughter, Heather Hamling and husband, John; her grandchildren, Michael, Preston, Robbie, and Ella; and sisters, Barbara Garappiolo and Christine Middleton.
Susan graduated from Wake Forest University, after which she had a long and productive career caring for others as a registered nurse. Together with Roger, Susan was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Despite his transition to the dark side, she was particularly fond of Jacoby Ellsbury. Susan enjoyed fine wine and was an accomplished baker and cook. You have not experienced an excellent bolognese sauce unless you sat at her table.
Susan had a great eye for design and loved interior decorating and gardening. Anyone who loved Susan knows she did everything with great style. Susan loved warm weather, the ocean and was even more beautiful in the sun. "Look how far the light came to paint you this way."
A memorial service to remember Susan and celebrate her life will be held at Stephen C. Gregory & Son, 472 Meadowland Drive, Suite 7, South Burlington, on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 1 p.m.
Roger and Susan's children would like to thank the fine people at the Vermont Respite House for their extraordinary care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495, in Susan's honor would be most appreciated.
