BURLINGTON -- Patricia A. Coleman, of 230 St. Paul Street, Burlington, passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2014, in Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington. Patricia was born on Jan. 24, 1938, in Shinnston, W.Va. She was a longtime resident of Baltimore, Md., as well as Fitchburg, Mass., and resided in Vermont for the last 28 years. Patricia was a beautiful woman inside and out. She opened her arms and her heart to any child, and was known as "Grandma" and "Mom" to many. She loved and was loved by anyone who was fortunate enough to be in her life. She was an excellent cook that would provide a meal or a safe place for anyone, and showed her caring spirit and kindness through years of caring for the elderly. She was predeceased by her father, Troy Harper Sr.; mother, Mabel Plank; and son, John Brygodzinski Jr. She is survived by her husband, Perry Coleman of Fitchburg, Mass.; children, Joseph T. Brygodzinski of Rutland, Stephen M. and Christy Coleman of Fitchburg, Mass., Denise M. Coleman of South Burlington, Angie and Jim Fitzpatrick of Burlington, and John Germano of Rhode Island; grandchildren, Zaylin Coleman, Starriana Coleman, Kayana Pearson, Kenny Pearson, Maleek Fitzpatrick, Lennox Fitzpatrick, Aneysha Connelly, Ammanuell Pearson, Ashlee Orvis, Kyle Polczynski, Madison Polczynski, and Ian Polczynski; siblings, Darlene V. Plank, Charlotte Janssen, Troyana Bowman, Linda Harper-Shaffer, Helen McGowen, and Troy Harper Jr. The family would like to thank Alan Aiken for his years of caring and loving friendship to Patricia. Also, a special thank you to Mary Brown Guillory, Jenn-Lynn Emery, and the staff at Starr Farm Nursing Center for taking great care of our mother. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Stephen C. Gregory and Son, 472 Meadowland Dr., Suite 7, South Burlington.
