Lillian Murtha Passed away Monday, April 27th 2015. Lily passed surrounded by her children and close loved ones at the Vermont Respite House. Born Lillian Williams on September 16th 1960, in New haven Connecticut. Lily spent her far too short life sacrificing herself in so many ways for her own children and giving love and care to anyone in her life who lacked enough of it otherwise. Lily will surely be remembered by those who knew her as a woman fierce in kindness and resolve. Lily had a stubborn spirit that kept her strong so many times throughout her turbulent life, and kept her fighting hard to her final breath. Lily is survived by her husband Robert Murtha as well as her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 6 beloved siblings. Lily was born of proud Mi'kmaq native descent and her loss is surely felt by the Burnt Church First Nation of which her heritage resides. Lily's spirit carries on in the many whom she gave her love to, a small service for her will be held by Stephen C. Gregory and Son Cremation Service on Saturday May 2nd. In Lieu of Flowers or other contributions please send donations in her name to the Vermont Respite House 99 Allen Brook Ln, Williston, VT 05495.
