ROSEMARIE HANSON COLCHESTER - Rosemarie Hanson, 75, went to the Lord in the heavenly sky on June 25, 2015, as a result of a short bout with spine and lung cancer, while living her last days at the Vermont Respite House in Williston. Rosemarie was born on Oct. 30, 1939, the daughter of Chester Patch Sr. and Iriana "Irene" Patch, in Ventura County, Calif. At a young age, her family moved to Chester, Vt. She quit school while in the 10th grade to help support her family. She became a waitress and continued waitressing most of her young life in many different places including Plattsburgh Airbase. She also worked in a shoe shop for a while. In the early '80s, she began school to learn hairdressing and completed a GED course to finish her education and receive her diploma. In later years, she worked at both the Essex and then later Colchester Burger King's for 15 years, until she retired in April 2015, due to illness. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Chester Jr. and Leo; her husband, William "Bingo" Hanson; and her companion of 37 years, James Economos. She is survived by her only son, Jamie Hanson and his wife, Colleen, of Colchester; four sisters, baby sister, Leona Aiguier and her husband, Richard, of Hinesburg, Barbara Patch of St. George Villa, Grace Patch and Donna Patch, both of Burlington; several nieces and nephews; her four favorite "grandchildren," cats, Shylove, Heather, and Cuddles Andrew, and her favorite shadow, Blackie Lee; extended family; and the many friends she made while working at Burger King. A wake and graveside service will be held at a future date to be announced. Arrangements are in care of Stephen C. Gregory & Son Cremation Service, South Burlington.
