Stephen Sicard passed away on December 26, 2016 at the VNA Respite House after a two year battle with cancer. Steve's desire to live never wavered with each passing day.
Steve was born on January 27, 1961 the tenth child of thirteen to Mary (McGuire) Sicard and the late Joseph Sicard Sr. He was a graduate of Burlington High School class of 1979 and also served in the Vermont Air National Guard.
Steve began his career in the glass industry at the age of 18. He was employed by Acme, Able, and most recently The Glass Connection where he worked for his brothers Joe and Bobby.
Steve had an extraordinary talent to build just about anything and did. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed him. Steve loved being outdoors and took great pride in his vegetable garden sharing his harvest with anyone who stopped by to visit. He never lost his sense of humor or quick wit throughout. Being together with his family were times that he always cherished. He was a four season master griller, loved playing games, and always made the people around him laugh.
Steve leaves behind his wife Deborah (Papin) Sicard; his daughters Amy Weinstock and fiance Dan Falby; Shanna Jacobs and Kaitlyn Jacobs. Known as PaPa he also leaves his grandchildren; Isabella, Willa,Demi, and Romeo Chapparo -Hammond; Jaxon and Brady Kimber and Eloise Desautels.
He is survived by his mother Mary (Rose) Sicard who he loved dearly. His brothers and sisters Joe (Patty) Sicard, Marilyn (Chuckles) Sicard, Bobby (Janice) Sicard, Mike (Bonnie) Sicard, Mark (SuAnn) Sicard, Karen (Bill) Root, Paul (Debbie) Sicard, Jimmy Sicard, Christy (Glen) Dennis, Renee Lawerence and her partner Gordon Hendersen, Lisa (Ken) Paquette and Amy Brown. Also surviving is his godson Eric Sicard and many other nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his father Joseph Sicard Sr.
The Family would like to thank Dr. William Brundage, Dr. Chris Nunnick, and the VNA Hospice/Respite House especially Ellen and Tom for their exceptional care. A special thank you to Joe and Bobby for always being there for Steve.
A Mass will be held at Saint Anthony's Church, 305 Flynn Avenue, Burlington, VT on Friday, December 30th at 1:30 p.m.
