Joan O (DuBrule) Cannistrano, 79, a lifelong resident of Burlington, VT, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016. She was born August 10, 1936 to John & Lillian (Galvin) DuBrule. Joan graduated from Cathedral High School, 1954. She spent most of her life devoted to working, raising and caring for her children on her own. She enjoyed a long career with the State of Vermont, Department of Health and retired after 33 years of service. Joan was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed her relationship and spending time with her daughter Debora.
Joan leaves behind her companion, Richard (Dick) Trombley as they enjoyed going out for lunch, casinos, bingo, and garage sales. Joan is survived by her seven children, Debora DuBrule; Marty Mesick; Brenda Mesick; Kimberly Lepage; Shawn Mesick; Joel Mesick and Rosario Cannistrano. She also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents,
she was predeceased by her brother, Maurice DuBrule and sister's Jannette Daignault, Noella Gonyo, and Vivian Ells.
Per her wishes, there will be no public service. Stephen C. Gregory and Son Cremation Service, 472 Meadowland Drive, Suite 7, South Burlington, Vermont 05403, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
Celebration of Joan's life will be planned for the spring or summer at Lake View Cemetery, Burlington VT.
