Clayton “Waggy” E. Wagner Jr. went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family at the Respite Home Januray, 3, 2016.
He was born March 7, 1949 to Rosalie and the Late Clayton E. Wagner Sr. in Colchester, Vt. He leaves behind hes wife Suzanne of 47 1/2 wonderful years, married on July 12, 1969, daughter Melissa and her husband Stephen Short of Burlington, VT, and son Scott and his wife Hanna Wagner of Cambridge, VT. He was predecesed by his youngest son Michael in 2010.
Clayton also leaves three beautiful grandchildren, Gregory and his wife Jaime Short, Alicia and Tyler Short. Clayton also leaves a very special great grand daughter Raegan Short.
He is survived by his mother Rosalie, brother Charles or Morisbille, brother Burce and special sister-in-law Donna, of Richmand, VT.
Clayton also leaves numerous family members, aunts, uncles and cousins. Special friend Peter Bottino, Nancy Stone and her late husband Robert Stone.
Clayton started his career as a truck driver for A.R. Guyette in 1970 as the company grew and changed ownership he remained and eventually retired as Vice President for Dowlings at the end of 1995. In 1996 he and his family opened Waggy’s Store and Deli and was there until 2016.
Clayton enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and playing cards with buddies at the club. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, he will be greatly missed. In 1968 he joined the Marines and was very proud of his service.
Visiting hours will be from 5:00 p.m.-9:00p.m. at Stephen C. Gregory and Son Cremation Service at 472 Meadowland Dr. in South Burlington. The service will be held at St. Anthony’s Church in Burlington on Friday Janurary 6th, at 10:30 a.m.
