Elizabeth (Buff) K. Clark passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on Saturday January 12th, 2019 while surrounded by family and friends. She was in the hospital after a lifelong battle with severe rheumatoid arthritis and associated complications. Buff was born on April 3rd, 1942 in San Diego, CA where she attended High school and received her BA in Zoology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She moved to Vermont in 1966 to start her life with husband Steven Clark of Charlotte, VT and was a resident there for 50+ years. She recently resided in South Burlington, VT. Buff also enjoyed spending Winters in Seville, FL for approximately 11 years where she and her husband had many friends.
Buff was a loving, selfless, patient, and caring mother, wife, and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed gardening, travel, nature, and especially genealogy. Another joy in Buff’s life was spending time daily with her 5 yr old grandson Nicholas. As a long time member of the Jehovah Witnesses she cherished her faith and friendships that she had in Vermont and Florida congregations.
Buff is predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years Steven C. Clark of Charlotte, VT and her parents Nicholas and Helen Keough. She is survived by her 100 yr old Aunt Olive Schofield of Capa Beach, CA, her daughter Joyce Clark of Foxboro, MA, son James Clark and wife Elena of South Burlington, VT, her brother Edward Keough and wife Evyl of Essex, VT, and her grandson Nicholas Clark, and step grandsons Brad Luke, Charles and Albert Weissgarber, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and her pet companion of 20yrs Buzzy a Quaker parrot.
A private family and friend memorial will be planned for later this year when she can be buried next to her husband in Charlotte. Buff’s congregation will be planning a memorial service at the Kingdom Hall in Colchester, VT on Sunday January 27th.
