Gregory Rowland Combs 70, of Essex Vermont, formerly of Springfield Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 15, 1948 to Constance E. (Smith) Wheeler and step-father James Wheeler.
Surviving Gregory is his wife Tanya E. (Kimball) Combs of Essex, Vermont. He also leaves his daughter Coleen E. Veino, her husband Ronald, and their son James of Bakersfield, Vermont, and his step-daughter Tiffany M. Bergeron-Pereslete, her husband Dustin, and her son Tullus Bergeron of Essex, Vermont. In addition he leaves his brother Donald Combs, his wife Lucia of Yucaipa, California, and his brother R. Sanderson Combs, his wife Joy of Shelburne, Vermont, and their son Kastle, and wife Cynthia of Frederica, Delaware, and sister, Nancy Coltey of Springfield, Massachusetts.
Gregory worked for George Little Press for many years until the company was sold to the Offset House where he worked for several more years. For fun, he also worked at the Champlain Valley Exposition for many years; where he leaves many friends. In addition, Gregory worked part-time for Atomic Sound of Rutland, Vermont.
Gregory had a great love of sunshine and music. Through his work with Atomic Sound he helped to set up stages and lights for all kinds of performances. This work allowed Gregory to enjoy the sun, his friends, and wonderful music all at once.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Stephen C.
