Olive E. “Beth” Sinnamon

Beth passed on Feb 13, 2019, at Vermont Respite House. Beth was an optimistic, positive spirit, fun-loving, talented and industrious. Born in Hartford, CT, at the Buckingham St. Maternity Home, daughter of Walter H. Frary and Marian Roby Frary. She graduated with secretarial training from Hartford High.

 A lovely, slender redhead, she met her husband on a blind date, and married William J. Sinnamon of Manchester one week before he reported to US Army Air Corp in 1942.  They enjoyed Wesleyan house parties and trips to the shore with friends.  She worked at US Dept of Agriculture during the war, lived in the Goodwin Building until 1951.  Beth raised two daughters in West Hartford, took care of her mother at home, then began temp jobs. One led to 21 years employment at Connecticut Public Television, lastly as assistant program manager.  Beth and Bill made a home in Higganum for 25 years.

Beth was challenged at age seven by the death of her father, and the loss of the family home on Tredeau St. She had a wonderful, loving marriage of 57 years and kind lifelong family and friends in CT.   She was a congregant at St. James's Church, and Holy Trinity Church in Middletown. She enjoyed camping through the country and Canada, and summer fun at Red Oak Hill.  She excelled as a seamstress, at croquet, and dance, and always was dressed with elegance and accessories.

She leaves her daughter Valerie of Isle LaMotte, VT, and daughter Carol Carpenter of Groton, CT, sister-in-law Rella Dickie of Florida, and Lepak nieces Susan and Virginia, and nephew Gary.  She was predeceased by her husband, her sister Anna Frary Lepak and nephew Dennis.

There will be a graveside service in the Spring at East Cemetery in Manchester, CT.
